On February 12, 1908, a group of residents in Forest Hill, which was outside of the city limits of Richmond met in the little school house on Forty-first street to consider the organization of a new church. The Right Reverend A.M. Randolph, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Virginia, presided over the meeting.
So begins the history of the Church of the Good Shepherd as written by Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Price in 1980. I was fortunate to work with them that year in the final assembling and typing of their amazing memories of the church’s early years. Now it is time to begin planning for the centennial celebration which we hope will commemorate the key dates of our first year as a parish. Below you will find a list of committees and jobs that need to be done. If you are interested in working on any area, please let me or the church office know. We look forward to planning and enjoying the commemorative events which will mark 2008 in a special way for all of us. Sign up today.
