To Know Christ and To Make Him Known
The Children’s Chapel, which is currently located in the library on the lower-level of the Parish Hall, focuses on establishing and nurturing an age-appropriate understanding of our Christian faith. Through a combination of Bible stories, scripture, and prayer the Children’s Chapel seeks to instill the discipline of Christian responsibility and respect towards God, family, church, and community. All children between the ages of 5 – 8 are welcome and encouraged to attend. Children’s Chapel begins at 9:30. (For the next few weeks Children’s Chapel will be blended with Children’s Education. Please click on Children’s Education to learn more.)
Parents of children 8-12, please click on Children’s Education. Parents with younger children, 0 – 4, may wish to use the nursery, which is also located on the lower-level of the Parish Hall. Unless other arrangements have been made for them, children attending the Children’s Chapel are brought to the nave by the teacher and return to their parents after the sermon and before Communion.
If you are new to Good Shepherd, please ask an usher or greeter to help you find the Children’s Chapel. On those Sundays when there is no Children’s Chapel, 5 to 8 year olds attend the service with their families. The nursery is also available.
During Lent the children watched “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.”
