Worship During COVID-19

Important Announcement about Worship from Father Terry

The Diocese has cancelled all indoor activities due to the rise in positive COVID-19 cases.

On December 9, 2020 Bishop Susan Haynes of the Diocese of Southern Virginia announced that indoor public worship services will henceforth be suspended for churches in our diocese. She did not indicate when services might resume, but I expect that the order will be in effect through Christmas and well into the New Year. This means then that we will be unable to gather together in person indoors.

Currently all “in-church” services and activities are virtual. During January 2021, Sunday Morning Prayer will be Zoomed at 11:00 a.m. Please contact us at info@goodshepherdrichmond.org for information about how to join.

In addition, the following pages will keep you up-to-date with helpful information:

– News:  weekly parish updates
– Sermons:  recent Sunday sermons & services in print and audio
– Music Messages:  Sunday morning recordings and reflections from our organist
– Adult Christian Education:  current and upcoming courses

emptypewsWhen we return to normal, (or when regathering with Covid-19 restrictions is allowed):

— the Sunday Morning Service will start at 9:30 a.m.

This service of Holy Communion or Morning Prayer is led by our rector and will include music performed by our organist (and singing by our choir).

— the Tuesday Morning Service will start at 8:15 a.m. and end at 8:45 a.m.

This informal service of Morning Prayer is led by one of our licensed lay ministers and offers an opportunity to begin the day with prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. In addition to the standard parts of the service, there is an opportunity to join together in offering intercessory prayers for those in need, as well as to offer thanksgiving for our many blessings.
